Basically, the aim of the proposal is to consolidate a network of research into curriculum and culture policy, involving teams of the participating Universities (UERJ – Rio de Janeiro State University, UFMT – Federal University of Mato Grosso and UFPb – Federal University of Paraíba). This network will allow theoretical-methodological exchange to be expanded among the groups. The group members are not only teachers belonging to the Research teams, but also postgraduate students and scientific initiation scholarship holders. To develop that broader objective, we would have:
1) To develop research in each of the Programs, in a theoretical-methodological approach produced in discussions held in the cooperation network.
2) To train human resources, especially at doctorate and post-doctorate levels, for researching curricular and cultural policies.
3) To contribute toward consolidating curriculum groups of the partner Universities and of the Postgraduation Programs in which they work, especially at UFMT and UFPb.
4) To expand disclosure of the research results nationally and through already organized international networks.
Following a post-colonial logic, we consider that if a partnership is established in which the University of the metropolis, at level 6, not only benefits the others, but also universities in Brazil’s interior, today not so well evaluated by CAPES, they are able to offer benefits to the research discussions of the metropolitan University. In that way, it is hoped that interchange between those institutions might lead not only to improving the level of publication and internationalization of the Universities involved – due to the exchange of experiences already taking place -, but also might potentialize the possibilities of improving the evaluation of the Programs involved.
